Passive Video Balun with Power that in addition to transmitting CCTV video over CAT5 CAT6 network cabling, also allows for the injection of power to your security camera over your network cable. It is also called a “Video Power Balun” by CCTV professionals. Make note this is not an active balun, as the power is being injected over the cable to the camera to power it and not to the balun itself to strengthen the signal. You can expect to transmit video up to 1000ft like any passive video balun. Power transmission will vary based on the following factors:

• Gauge of the cable (CAT5 or CAT6)
• Quality of the cable meaning whether the cable is good quality full copper or a cheap one that is copper clad aluminum (CCA) or copper clad silver (CCS)
• Voltage and amperage of the original power source will ultimately be subject to Ohm’s law where resistance in the wire will determine the voltage/amperage at the camera after it has traveled the length of the wire
